It looks like Mitt Romney took the debate (you can also see the quite comic Gangnam style parody version), and if he does become president, he promised during the debate that he would fire Big Bird (well, that was our take). We add our voices to the chorus urging Mr. Romney to reconsider. Sir, it is only a bird!

Romney’s reference to Big Bird while speaking about federal funding to programs such as public broadcasting, set twitter ablaze. There were several hashtags and handles that were created, including @FiredBigBird. @FiredBigBird had within hours of creation amassed more than 25,000 followers (UPDATE: As of 8am Pacific Time,Twitter seems to have suspended the @FiredBigBird account).
