GOT1

The fourth season of Games of Thrones has come to an end. The television series, based on the books by George R.R. Martin, is well known for its raw depiction of death and betrayal in the mystical land of Westeros.

In this regard, season four of Game of Thrones is no exception, every Sunday evening had its fair share of duels and bloodshed.

The deaths in Game of Thrones were Robert M Ball’s inspiration for his ‘Beautiful Death’ series, a collection of illustrations made by him portraying the most important deaths of the Game of Thrones Universe.

(l. Locke was killed by the gentle giant Hodor, controlled by Brann Stark)

(r. Yara Greyjoy attempted to free her brother Theon from the maniacal hands of Ramsay Snow. The failed rescue mission only resulted in a trail of Ironborn blood)

(l. Lord Baelish betrayed the trust and love of his newlywed wife Lysa Arryn by throwing her through the Moon Door)

(r. Oberyn Martell, known as The Viper, was killed by the Mountain. This death was exceptionally brutal, even by Game of Thrones standards)

GOT4(l. The siege of Castle Black by the Wildlings of the North left many dead. Humans and Giants alike)

(r. Tywin Lannister was killed by his son Tyrion while he sat on the toilet. A humiliating death for perhaps the most powerful man in Westeros)
